The CCA Difference

Central Carolina Academy has a rigorous, college preparatory academic focus. It is essential for students to build a solid learning foundation beginning in middle school so they can be well prepared to take college-level courses in the North Carolina Career and College Promise (CCP) through a partnership with Central Carolina Community College as juniors and seniors. The CCA academic structure maximizes the CCP program.

Teachers collaborate in vertical teams to ensure the curriculum is challenging and rigorous while meeting students where they are emotionally and academically. The ninth and tenth grade years focus on students completing the majority of core courses required for high school graduation while exploring the wide variety of elective offerings. Extra tutoring time and seminars that teach durable skills are additional elements of the school’s academic program.

Students who are successful at Central Carolina Academy work diligently, take advantage of resources, are willing to develop resiliency through challenges, and work to hone durable skills (good study habits, time management, organization, tenacity, and self-motivation). CCA’s academic goal by high school graduation is that the majority of students will complete CCP Pathways and earn transferable college credits. Forming collaborations with area businesses to explore internship opportunities is also a goal area.
