About
Central Carolina Academy has a rigorous college preparatory academic program that begins by building strong foundations in middle school. The program culminates with students in eleventh and twelfth grades maximizing the NC Career and College Promise. Through a partnership with Central Carolina Community College, students gain college experience with a strong support system and workforce preparedness.
School Opening
Central Carolina Academy was approved by the State Board of Education to open in Sanford (Lee County NC) for the 2022–2023 school year. The school served students in grades 6–10 the first year and had grades 6–12 by the 2024–2025 school year.
Campus
The Central Carolina Academy campus is a former corporate facility of The Pantry and later Circle K. After purchasing the facility in early 2022, renovations began to convert the three-story building to an educational setting. The third floor and a section of the second floor were completed for use during the first school year. The full renovation was ready for the opening of the 2023–2024 school year.
